Adrian Aurel Utupan, 64, has been identified by investigators as the driver who was killed in a crash early on Thursday morning in Woodbridge.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 24, officers were called to the area of Prince William Parkway near Minnieville Road, where there was a single-vehicle crash reported.

Police say that Utupan was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer south on the parkway when the truck unexpectedly crossed over the grassy median, across the opposite travel lanes, off the road, up an embankment and into a tree, where the vehicle came to rest.

It is believed that Utupan suffered a medical emergency.

The Woodbridge resident was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
